Pit boards are one of the oldest and most effective forms of communication between racing teams as the pit crew pass on information to the driver or rider out on the circuit. Displaying everything from the number of laps to go to the gap to the racer in front or behind, a pit board provides a clear indication of on-track performance to encourage a racer to speed up to close or open the gap, or when to pit for more fuel and tyres.
