Daytime running lights (DRLs) are designed to enhance vehicle visibility during daylight hours, thereby improving safety on the road. For performance vehicles, DRLs typically employ LED technology due to its high brightness and efficiency. LEDs provide a strong, consistent light output while consuming minimal power. This technology ensures that DRLs are effective in increasing the vehicle's conspicuity without compromising energy efficiency.

The technical design of DRLs involves a specific beam pattern that is bright enough to be visible in various lighting conditions but not so intense as to cause glare.
