Forge optimises their intake kits to increase airflow with high-flow filters available in pre-oiled foam or pleated nano-fibre options, dependent on the vehicle application and performance gains achieved in testing.
Instead of the factory airbox, you will have a high-flow filter uniquely designed to be optimised for your vehicle and redesigned carbon fibre pipework that sits in situ using the OE mounting points.
It's no secret that a badly designed intake kit can actually lose engine power, but Forge Motorsport bring the same engineering know-how to this as they do to everything else. In most cases, the filter itself will either be positioned in an optimum location for good airflow from outside the engine bay or else pipework will bring air from there to the filter.
This avoids issues of heat soak, but in most cases, maintains the improvements in the sound you get with a more open filter.
Pipework is carefully designed to maintain air velocity and improve torque.
All of this means your engine gets a faster supply of cold air. While most cars nowadays have a fairly competent factory airbox, once you start tuning the rest of the engine up you can find its limits. This kind of kit ensures that the air supply on offer won't be a bottleneck.
This works especially well in combination with software.
