A Competition Clutch Ultra Lightweight Chromoly Flywheel is designed to signifacntly reduce drive-train inertia. This will make your engine much keener to rev up when you are on the throttle and lose revs more quickly when come off the throttle. This will enhance driving feel and can help rev-matching on gear-shifts.

The stock flywheel in many modern cars is on the heavy side, for smoothness. While this has it's benefits on road it isn't necessarily what you want on track or with a highly tuned engine. Rotational intertia will delay the engine revving up which can hamper both up and downshifts..

Fitting a much lighter flywheel will help a lot with this.

The Competition Clutch Ultra Lightweight chromoly steel flywheels are manufactured from a high quality 4140 forged chromoly steel. This is a very tough alloy and provides excellent longevity, and heat resistance.

The Ultra Lightweight flywheel range remove a lot of weight when compared to the stock flywheel. While this might be just what you want, it is worth considering the effect this will have on road, particularly in combination with the stage 3+ clutch Competition Clutch recommend them for.

Please note, Mazda RX-7/RX-8 flywheels require a counterweight to function on Rotary engines. The flywheel is available with and without the counter-weight included.
