Lowering springs are good. Lower centre of gravity, enhanced body control, reduced body roll for better road holding through corners are all desirable improvements over stock suspension. It gets even better when you combine that with a sports damper like in this Sport Suspension Kit from KW.
Allowing for greater lowering amounts courtesy of a purpose-built short stroke design damper, you get even more pronounced benefits from the even lower centre of gravity and sharper springs. The tauter dampers help control the chassis. A properly damped car will just soak up bumps without losing grip. These springs and dampers have been developed at the same time ensuring an excellent match between spring and damper.
The kit combines ST Sport Springs which are made from cold wound chrome silicon steel with a multi-coated epoxy coating for weather resistance and ST Sport Shocks with their low-friction twin-tube housings and chrome plated piston rods. The springs are a carefully chosen mix of progressive and fixed rate springs offering precise, enhanced handling whilst not making the car overly jittery over bumps or uncomfortable on the straight.
The dampers are carefully tuned to match the springs on each application. Keeping the springs under control and soaking up bumps the correct damper is essential when you're going really low and desirable even with moderate lowering.
The end result is a lower car that takes corners and all kinds of road surfaces in it's stride, offering safe, predictable handling and enhanced driver enjoyment.
On vehicles where sports suspension is a factory option (e.g. Audi S-Line, BMW M-Sport, Mercedes AMG-Line) the lowering amount shown is for vehicles without. If your vehicle has optional sports suspension you will have to deduct the amount the vehicle is already lowered by. This can be up to 30mm.
