Design Engineering Titanium Turbo Shield
The Design Engineering Titanium Turbo Shield features a multi-layer construction for extreme heat protection. The shield is made from pulverised volcanic rock which is then strained and then integrated into a wrap type material. The turbo shields can withstand extremely high temperatures up to 982°C direct and 1300°C radiant which benefits the application as heat is kept in the turbine and out of the engine bay area, reducing under bonnet temperatures and help turbochargers spool faster.
- Reduces under bonnet temperatures improving engine performance
- Retains heat in the turbocharger allowing it to spool faster
- Double reinforced seams provide excellent durability
- Capable of withstanding up to 1800°F (982°C) direct heat
The Design Engineering titanium turbo shields have been custom made for the renowned Garrett range of turbos so fit snugly around the problematic heat area without excess, reducing waste material and engine bay obstacles. The shield will also fit other turbo brands. The hard wearing outer shell material is extremely robust in all environments and is combined with a high temperature silica based padded insulation inner layer, forming added protection for the engine bay and turbo. Not only can the shield improve performance under the engine bay but is can also improve under bonnet appearance. The shield can be clipped neatly into place, whilst the 'carbon fibre look' material provides an alternative to traditional turbo covers.
The Titanium Turbo Shield is available either as a standalone product or a part of a kit which comes complete with locking ties and extra titanium exhaust wrap.
