When you compress something you generally add heat to it and air going into an engine is no exception. Most turbocharged/supercharged cars come with a factory intercooler. This works a lot like a radiator with air flowing through the core and shedding heat.

Only cool air should come out of the other end. While this is generally adequate for the factory tune, once you start tuning and upgrading an engine you can start making greater demands of the intercooler than it can meet, making it a bottleneck for the whole system.

At this point an upgraded item becomes desirable. It's important to choose the right intercooler though. As we're talking about air going into the engine from the turbo, a poorly engineered intercooler can obstruct the flow of air in, adding lag. You also want to rest assured that the Front Mount Intercooler you're fitting is both well-built and future-proof. Up to the demands you're placing on it now and in the future. Each intercooler is specifically engineered for the vehicle. Forge like to optimise the space used behind the bumper. In some cases, they have even gone as far as engineering a brand-new crash bar for the vehicle to ensure the best use of the behind-bumper space. This Intercooler uses the OE fixing points and requires no further modifications to install making this an easily reversible bolt-in solution. With 16bhp power gains and 20Nm torque gains measured during dyno testing over the stock intercooler provides that additional power to support further stage tuning.

Pipework will be included where needed. A choice of colours may be available (please see product title). Generally, the new item will be as similar as possible to the old item.

Although most of these items are front mount, on some vehicles this is just not possible.
