BMC OTA Universal Filter Kit

The BMC OTA or Oval Trumpet Airbox is a high-performance carbon fibre airbox designed to offer outstanding airflow and heat-soak resistance in a flexible package.

The BMC Oval Trumper Airbox combines a big oiled cotton cone air filter, a 5 layer carbon fibre airbox, and an internal trumpet to ensure that your engine is fed with a smooth, steady supply, of cold air.

The 5 layer carbon casing also has been designed to offer excellent heat insulation to ensure air stays cool passing through the airbox. Hot air going into your engine will rob you of power, so good insulation is essential if you take power seriously. The carbon fibre used is high quality with an attractive finish. This isn't just functional, it looks good too.

An oiled cotton cone filter is used. This shape offers both much-increased surface area, and good airflow through the inside of the airbox. Oiled cotton itself is ideal for a high-performance air intakes because it offers both low resistance to air passing through the filter, and good filtration. The oil helps the filter stop water and dirt in its tracks.

Air passes through the filter into the airbox, before passing through a trumpet into the engine. At with the trumpets used on carbs and throttle bodies, this ensures a smooth turbulence-free flow of air into the engine which is essential for consistent power gains throughout the rev range. This will both maximise airflow and help reduce any lag in the engine getting air.

BMC are offering these in a range of sizes. They offer a smaller kit for engines less than 1.6l in displacement and a range of bigger kits.

Please note - This is a universal kit so can be made to fit most vehicles. It is likely some fabrication will be required. This can include mounting the airbox itself, plumbing it into air intake pipework, and mounting sensors in the pipework.
