This high-frequency ignition plasma cutter from Draper is suitable for cutting stainless steel, aluminium and a range of other conductive metals up to 12mm thick. Featuring DTi(digital technology inside) microprocessor control systems that replace conventional analogue switches and dial controls, to make a more intelligent system available. This also means a greater range of functions and settings are available to the user via easy to use single-touch operations and digital information displays.
The introduction of IGBT(insulated-gate bipolar transistors) in the latest Draper range, sees more powerful high-voltage, high-current power switching technology available, typically supporting 400-2000 Volt and 5-1000 Amp applications, making them ideal for inverter systems.
This combination of high-speed digital control systems and higher power technologies, means newer inverter plasma cutters offer more stable arc, exceptional levels of control and precision, resulting in better performance and a smoother, faster cutting. Being significantly more efficient than their transformer type predecessors the latest range of Draper inverter plasma cutters are more compact and easier to carry around.
This 40 Amp inverter plasma cutter features a high-frequency pilot arc start, making it suitable for stainless steel, aluminium and a wide range of cutting tasks, a 20-40 Amp range for a wide selection of material size and type, 72.5 psi pressure range, an integrated gas regulator for easy setup, Thermal overload protection, integrated carry handle and delivers an operational duty cycle of 60% at 40A and 100% @ 25A.
