Gold Plug is a high quality engine sump drain plug manufactured from 303 grade stainless steel and features a N45SH Neodymium magnet, the strongest magnet with the highest temperature rating available.
Why is a magnet beneficial in a sump plug?
Any swarf or wear particles of meta in the sump panel which are missed by the oil filter, are collected by the magnet preventing them from circulating around the engine which could cause potential long term damage. The magnet holds these metallic particles until the oil is changed when they can be removed from the plug before re-installing.
