Scorpion Cat Back or GPF Back systems generally replace the original exhaust components from the Catalytic Converter, or in newer vehicles due to tighter emissions controls, the Gasoline Particulate Filter(GPF) back to the rear of the vehicle. Some systems may go from the secondary catalytic converters where fitted, and these are usually described as Secondary Cat Back exhaust systems.

Cat back or GPF Back systems are generally designed to enable simpler exhaust modifications that increase engine performance and give a sportier tone, whilst leaving essential emissions control components in place, that can retain OE exhaust approval/certification and often means vehicle remapping is not essential to pass MOT tests.
