Kaaz Super Q Limited Slip Differential - 1.5 Way
Kaaz Super Q clutch plate type limited slip differentials (LSD's) are precision engineered to endure the tough conditions encountered in Motorsport events. Offering reliability while being highly competitive means that Kaaz differentials are used in high level competition cars the world over.
- WPC treated clutch plates for increased strength giving a longer service life
- Quieter and smoother in operation, ideal for cars used on the road
- Ideal for fast road, track day or Motorsport use
- Less aggressive lock up on deceleration suits smoother driving styles
- Precision engineered to endure the harsh use encountered in Motorsport
- Huge increase in traction compared to a standard open differential
Kaaz Super Q LSDs are engineered to give a longer lasting performance between services. This is achieved by treating the clutch plates with a WPC process. This process improves the strength and wear resistance of the plates. It also provides quieter operating with smoother lock characteristics with no need for a ‘break in’ period, which make these differentials a great choice for cars which are used on the road.
This 1.5 way differential is suitable for all types of Motorsport as well as track day or even fast road use. With optimized performance during acceleration it carries a lighter lockup on deceleration which is best suited for smoother driving styles. Despite the fact that 1.5 way units have slighter lock up on deceleration, many racers still use this type for aggressive Motorsports such as drifting or gymkhana events.
Which Kaaz Limited Slip Differential Do I Need.?
Kaaz differentials are available in 1.5 or 2 way variants with each type having options of standard or 'Super Q'. So what are the differences.?
1.5 or 2 way? - Both the 1.5 way and the 2 way offer exactly the same performance under acceleration, the difference is during deceleration where the 2 way has a more aggressive lock making it a favourite for drifting, gymkhana or rallying. The less aggressive locking action of the 1.5 way makes it more suitable for track day cars or performance cars which also get used on the road.
Standard or Super Q? - Both of these differentials are available in 1.5 or 2 way and offer the same performance. The difference in the Super Q is that the clutch plates are treated with a WPC finish. This reduces chatter and clunking noises associated with plate type LSD's and provides a smoother locking which is perfect for cars used on the road. The WPC treatment removes the requirement to 'break in' the differential and also reduces clutch plate wear so the service / adjustment intervals are longer.
