HID Conversion Kits

We can't find products matching the selection.

If you are looking to upgrade the headlights on your competition car, you will most likely be looking for the brightest light that you can get. High Intensity Discharge (HID) bulbs use Xenon gas

Designed to replace the standard headlight bulbs, these HID kits are supplied with their own wiring and a ballast unit for each bulb. The ballast is designed to reduce the voltage and regulate the current that is supplied to the bulbs.

Unlike regular headlight bulbs, HID bulbs do not use a filament to produce the light. The light arc is created by two electrodes, as a result they are up to 3 times brighter than standard bulbs while consuming 40% less power. HID bulbs also typically last up to 10 times longer than conventional bulbs.

Other advantages of installing an HID kit include an increase in the width of the beam by 30% which allows for a better field of vision, particularly useful in rallying when looking to avoid potential hazards. An HID bulb also burns cooler than a regular halogen type bulb, suiting modern plastic headlight units. Kits are supplied to replace the most common bulb types and are available in either 6000K (white) or 8000K (ice blue) colour spectrums.

As HID kits are not road legal, you may also be interested in high performance halogen type bulbs which can be found in the Bulbs section of the Lighting and Accessories category.
