Spark Plugs & Ignition Leads
Spark plugs play an essential role in the combustion process within an engine by producing the spark that ignites the air and fuel mixture to force the pistons down into the cylinders.
There is a great deal of tuning ability to be found within different types of spark plugs which can be used to enhance the combustion process. Road cars running standard ECU maps require the use of a specific type of plug to optimise fuel consumption and efficiency, however for competition cars, power output is a top priority. Racing spark plugs are designed to cope with more strenuous operating conditions such as those found in high compression or high revving engines and often feature a stronger spark to improve ignition. Other benefits of competition spark plugs include improved throttle response; lower voltage draw and greater durability. All of these details add up to provide a better performing engine which inevitably transfers onto the track or stage.
For standard replacement spark plugs, please see the Performance section of our website, where you will find the correct spark plugs for your road car.
